Rate remains unchanged
The Bank of England have, as widely tipped, voted against reducing the cost of borrowing - for the next few weeks at least.
Members of its nine-strong Monetary Policy Committee have decided to keep the base rate of interest at 5% for the second month in a row.
Analysts point out that their worries about inflation outweigh their concerns about the slowdown in the economy.
