Hips required on all properties.
The government today announced that Home information packs (Hips) will be required for all properties being sold in England and Wales from the 14th December.
This news has been met with both positive and negative views.
Many first time buyer welcome the news as the pack is designed to give them more information about the property than they get right now, and because in principle the pack should speed up the sale process.
In contrast the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) warn that in their opinion Hips are amplifying problems in the housing market and predict that a further slowdown will ensue.
